Codebreaker Master, the color code deduction game
The app hides a code of colored pegs. You make guesses; after each one, hints tell you how many pegs are in the right position and how many are the right color but in the wrong position. Your job is to deduce the code before the last row. On Extreme, the code has 7 pegs from 10 colors, and you can also set the game's format yourself.
Available on the App Store (iPhone, iPad).

How it works, by example
At the Intermediate level, the code has 5 pegs chosen from 8 colors. Suppose the code is red, yellow, blue, orange, purple, and a guess is red, blue, purple, orange, green:
Secret code
Guess 2 correctly placed, 2 misplaced
The app's answer: 2 correctly placed, 2 misplaced. The clues don't tell you which pegs they refer to: it's up to you to work that out, guess after guess. The rules cover every case in detail, and the strategy page shows how to reason.
The app's levels
| Level | Pegs | Colors | Rows | At most one color |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 4 | 6 | 10 | once |
| Intermediate | 5 | 8 | 10 | once |
| Hard | 6 | 9 | 20 | 2 times |
| Extreme | 7 | 10 | 30 | 3 times |
Random Challenge picks a different format for each game, and Custom game lets you choose it yourself: see Modes and levels.
